THE PREMIER SHOTGUN RANGE FOR CLAY TARGETS

Skeet Shooting

Skeet is similar to trap in that the game involves shooting at clay targets with a shotgun. The targets are exactly the same as those used in trap, an inverted saucer about one inch deep and four inches in diameter. Although the flight path of the targets remains constant, the shooter’s perspective of the target varies because they change positions as the squad moves through the stations.

Trap Shooting

In the game of Singles Trap, five shooters stand on a trap field sixteen yards behind a single house from which targets are launched. The targets are of a constant height but carry in direction through a pre-determined pie-shaped arc. Each contestant shoots five shots from each post, with 25 shots comprising one round.

5-Stand

5-stand is shot from five positions similar to those used in trap. A variety of targets are presented from as many as eight different machines. Some of the machines are positioned to throw a trap like target; some are positioned to throw crossing skeet like targets, while others are positioned in sporting clays fashion. Each station has a different menu of target presentations similar to the sporting clay course. A round of 5-stand is 25 targets, 5 from each of the stations.

Sporting Clays

Often referred to as “golf with a shotgun,” shooters walk around the course comprised of several different stations. Each station is different and designed to simulate the flights of live birds. Similar to trap and skeet, five shooters comprise a squad. Similar to skeet, four shooters watch as one shoots at a time. A round of sporting clays is typically 50 or 100 targets.
